  This Publix's produce department standards are deplorable and have been for YEARS. You smell rotted produce as your walk through the section. There's always flies flying around. I called Publix Corporate and they said they don't take calls from customers, but that they would relay the message to the appropriate person. Really?? You don't take customer calls?? The store manager called me and gave me the standard we'll look into it response. I stopped buying produce from this Publix and I think a lot of customers have too. I'll go on a Sunday and then the following Friday and the same produce will be there. Just last week in one visit I saw berries with mold on them, rotted zucchini, rotted peppers, rotted apples, plums so rotted one squirted in my hand when I picked it up, broccoli was rotted, onions were rotted and had the most flies around them.
  
  Update: This Publix has serious issues. They over bought cupcakes for Super Bowl LI and were out of chicken wings?? I don't want your poisonous propylene glycol (antifreeze) filled cupcakes, I wanted chicken wings. Major fail. There were hundreds of disgusting cupcakes and no chicken wings. Wesley Chapel is a health conscious city. We should be able to depend on Publix to buy healthy food.
